Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Indonesia, with 66,271 cases and 22,598 deaths, and is the third leading cause of cancer deaths. In West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in 2022, 93 cases (0.03%) were recorded out of 262,042 women of childbearing age (WUS) who had undergone clinical breast examinations (SADANIS). At the Suranadi Community Health Center, SADANIS coverage was only 3.47%, far below the national target of 70%. Early detection through SADANIS is crucial for preventing advanced stages. This study aims to develop educational media in the form of animated videos based on Animaker to increase the motivation of WUS to undergo SADANIS. The study design used a quasi-experimental approach.one group pretest-posttest. A research sample of 30 women of childbearing age (WUS) was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was validated through observation, questionnaires, feasibility tests, and documentation, then analyzed univariately and bivariately. The results of the feasibility test by experts showed that the animated video was very suitable for use (average score of 88%), with aspects of content quality, objectives, and graphics obtaining the highest scores (90%). The intervention test showed a significant increase in WUS motivation, from an average score of 69.67 (pre-test) to 90.63 (post-test) with p < 0.001 (Wilcoxon test). Thus, the animated video was proven effective in increasing WUS motivation in conducting early breast cancer detection, and has the potential to be a more interesting and easier-to-understand educational medium than conventional methods.
