Abstract

The COVID-19 virus has had a very significant impact on all aspects of people's lives. The government has made various efforts, ranging from conventional measures to the most recent, namely the procurement of the COVID-19 vaccine, to protect the Indonesian people. However, many people remain reluctant to get vaccinated. Method: This research is a Quasi-Experimental quantitative study with a control group design, pre-test, and post-test, aimed at assessing the effectiveness of comic media on the knowledge and attitudes of children aged 6-11 years regarding participation in the COVID-19 vaccination. Results: The results of the study on the effectiveness of comic media showed that there were significant differences and improvements in the knowledge aspect with a p-value of 0.000 and it was also proven by the N-gain test for the intervention group with a moderate criterion value of 0.34 (? 0.3 ? 0.7 ). In the aspect of attitude, there was no significant difference (p-value 0.095) in the intervention group, however in the control group there was a significant difference with a p-value of 0.014. The test results for both knowledge and attitudes did not show a significant difference (p = 0.565), as indicated by the N-gain test, which showed a low criterion value (0.10 < 0.3).  Based on these results, it can be concluded that Comic Media is effective in increasing the knowledge of children aged 6-11 years who are accompanied by parents about the COVID-19 vaccine, and is stated to be ineffective in changing the attitude of children aged 6-11 years whose parents accompany them about the COVID-19 vaccine. 19 because education is a confounding variable.
