Terapi Pilihan Pada Pasien Demensia dengan Pathological Crying : Evidence Based Case Report

Latar Belakang: Demensia adalah sindrom dengan penurunan fungsi kognitif, termasuk memori, pemahaman, berpikir, perhitungan, orientasi, bahasa, dan penilaian, yang sangat memengaruhi fungsi sehari-hari. Terapi non-farmakologis seperti akupunktur terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan daya ingat dan kognisi. Penelitian, seri kasus, dan laporan kasus mendukung efektivitas, tolerabilitas, dan keamanan SSRI dalam menangani pathological laughing and crying.
Tujuan: Menentukan terapi pilihan pada pasien demensia dengan pathological crying. Metode: Penelusuran dilakukan di PubMed, Cochrane, Springer, Trip Database, dan Science Direct dengan kata kunci Optional Therapy AND Dementia, Dementia AND Acupuncture, Dementia AND Pathological Crying. Penyaringan meliputi terbitan 10 tahun terakhir, penelitian pada manusia, tinjauan sistematis, meta-analisis, uji klinis acak, bahasa Inggris, dan artikel lebih dari 10 tahun. Hasil: Akupunktur menunjukkan manfaat potensial jika dikombinasikan dengan SSRI pada pasien demensia dengan pathological crying. Data statistik menunjukkan p-value ≤ 0,05%, menunjukkan keefektifannya sebagai terapi komplementer dan alternatif yang dapat diterapkan secara bertahap dalam pengobatan demensia klinis. Simpulan: Akupunktur direkomendasikan sebagai terapi pilihan pada pasien demensia dengan pathological crying. Terapi SSRI, seperti fluoxetine (20 mg), sertraline (50 mg), dan citalopram (10–20 mg), terbukti efektif menangani pathological crying pada demensia.
