UPAYA PENINGKATAN CAKUPAN AKSEPTOR MKJP (METODE KONTRASEPSI JANGKA PANJANG) MELALUI PELATIHAN DAN PENDAMPINGAN KADER

Kebon Ayu Village, located in Gerung District, West Lombok Regency, is one of the stunting loci facing the challenge of low coverage of long-acting and permanent contraceptive method (LAPM) acceptors, with only 11% out of 1,625 eligible couples utilizing the method. This issue is closely related to the limited knowledge and skills of community health cadres in effectively promoting family planning programs. To address this challenge, a community service program was conducted through training and mentoring activities focused on strengthening cadre capacity. The program took place at the Kebon Ayu Village office, involving 35 cadres in an intensive two-day training that employed lectures, discussions, simulations, case studies, and hands-on practice of communication, information, and education (CIE) with several couples of reproductive age. Pre-test results indicated that 42% of cadres demonstrated moderate knowledge, which improved to 63% in the good category after the post-test. Meanwhile, all cadres were initially unskilled, but their competency level increased to 60% following the training. The program continued with one month of intensive mentoring using educational media such as training modules, leaflets, and flip charts. Follow-up evaluation revealed that 26 cadres (74%) reached the competent category, which was further confirmed through a final assessment at the Bakong Posyandu. Monitoring and evaluation demonstrated that this participatory approach successfully enhanced cross-sectoral engagement, strengthened coordination, and created opportunities for replication in other villages as an innovative strategy to improve LAPM coverage and prevent stunting through cadre empowerment and quality family planning services.
