PENGGUNAAN SONGGAK SUKU SASAK UNTUK MENURUNKAN KADAR GULA DARAH PENDERITA DIABETES MELLITUS DI KELURAHAN DASAN CERMEN, KOTA MATARAM

Data dari profil Puskesmas Babakan, tingkat obesitas penduduk, dari 3.824 yang diperiksa, ditemukan 1.053 orang (27%) diantaranya dinyatakan obesitas. Sebanyak 90-95% kasus diabetes adalah DM tipe 2, yang sebagian besar dapat dicegah karena disebabkan oleh gaya hidup yang tidak sehat.  Tujuan pengabdian ini sebagai upaya membantu mengendalikan kadar gula darah penderita hiperglikemia dengan ramuan tradisional suku sasak, Songgak. Sebanyak 45 masyarakat yang hadir dalam kegiatan sosialisasi diperiksa kadar gukosa darahnya, sebanyak 14 orang memiliki kadar gula darah sewaktu ≥200mg/dl. Songgak disosialisasikan dan disampaikan hasil penelitian tentang manfaat songgak untuk menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Setelah konsumsi songgak selama dua  minggu, terjadi penurunan kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada 21 peserta. Masyarakat paham pentingnya menjaga pola hidup dan pentingnya pemeriksaan glukosa darah secara berkala bagi penderita DM.Â
Data profile of the Babakan Health Center, the obesity level of the population, of the 3,824 examined, 1,053 people (27%) were found to be obese. As many as 90-95% of diabetes cases are type 2 DM, most of which can be prevented because they are caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. The purpose of this service is as an effort to help control blood sugar levels of hyperglycemia sufferers with the traditional ingredients of the Sasak tribe, Songgak. As many as 45 people who attended the socialization activity had their blood glucose levels checked, as many as 14 people had blood sugar levels when ≥200mg/dl. Songgak was socialized and presented the results of research on the benefits of Songgak for lowering blood glucose levels. After consuming Songgak for two weeks, there was a temporary decrease in blood glucose levels in 21 participants. The community understands the importance of maintaining a lifestyle and the importance of regular blood glucose checks for people with DM.
